Bonaire, April 2013

Bonaire is the peak of an underwater mountain off the coast of Venezuela.

The entire country and its surrounding water is protected, making it a beautifully preserved diving destination...... which happened to be why I found myself there in April for a last-minute scuba holiday.

I joined a group of divers staying at a resort:  Accommodation and most meals included with no single supplement, 3 boat dives a day, 20 lovely people to spend the week with, walking distance to restaurants and shops in the capital, and a beautiful island to explore while we waited for time to pass before flying home!


It would be impossible for me to list all of the neat life we saw underwater

during my 17 dives, but some highlights were:

 - Eel
 - Flounder
 - Frogfish
 - Grouper
 - Horse-eye Jack

 - Lionfish
 - Lobster
 - Octopus
 - Parrotfish
 - Porquipine Fish
 - Puffer Fish
 - Scorpionfish
 - Seahorse
 - Sea Turtles
 - Squid
 - Stingray
 - Tarpon
 - Trumpetfish
 and HUGE variation of sponges & coral - simply amazing!

I spent time exploring the land on the final 2 days of the trip. We found donkeys, parrots, cacti fences, blow-holes, flamingos, salt flats, lizards, and even a distillery.

It most certainly was a week well spent, and it probably won't be the last time I dive with singledivers.com .......Not what you're thinking - "Their hookups are to tanks!"
